On July 7, eight members of the Spearfish-Northern Black Hills Rotary Club came together to make a lasting impact by helping provide mobility to people around the world. Partnering with the VA Ft. Meade Medical Center Purchasing Department and Spearfish Karl's TV & Audio Appliance, the Rotarians collected more than 20 wheelchairs and 20 walkers for donation to Hope Haven International.

Many of the mobility devices were brand new and still in their original packaging.

The donated equipment nearly filled a 24-foot flatbed trailer. After the VA donated the items, club members volunteered their time to load and transport the equipment. Karl's TV & Audio Appliance then shipped the trailer to its Sioux Falls facility, where Hope Haven International will prepare and custom-fit the wheelchairs and walkers for individuals in need overseas.

This collaborative effort is a wonderful example of Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self. Through partnerships and volunteerism, the Spearfish-Northern Black Hills Rotary Club is helping restore independence, dignity, and hope to people across the globe.
