The Sioux City Rotary recently volunteered with The BackPack Program: Food for Kids, a meaningful initiative through the Food Bank of Siouxland that helps address childhood hunger in the community.

The program provides nourishment to children who may have little to no food available over the weekend. Every Friday, backpacks are filled with “kid-friendly” shelf-stable food items to help ensure students have meals and snacks when school cafeterias are closed.

Rotarians assisted in preparing and organizing food bags that will directly support local children and families. Through projects like this, Sioux City Rotary continues its commitment to serving the community and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

By partnering with organizations like the Food Bank of Siouxland, Rotary members are helping create hope and stability for children who need it most — one backpack at a time.
