Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Sioux City showed their heartfelt support for our veterans! They wrote special cards for the veterans traveling on the Midwest Honor Flight to Washington D.C. June 3rd. This flight honors America’s veterans with a day of tribute at our nation’s memorials. The welcome home celebration begins with a touching "Mail Call" on the return flight, sharing gratitude and community support with our honored veterans. Thank you for your service!
What began with an unused cigar humidor has grown into a lifeline for a community in need. In 2020, members of the Rapid City Rotary Club were made aware of the growing food insecurity in Lakota Homes, a primarily Native American housing development on the north side of Rapid City. When Chris Johnson, owner of the Tinder Box, offered an extra humidor, fellow Rotarian John Howard saw its potential—not for cigars, but for service.
The Luverne Rotary Club is proud to announce the installation of the first of two Little Free Libraries in the community. The first library, located at Take 16, is officially open and already being used by local readers. A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the occasion, celebrating this new way to share the joy of reading with all ages.

On April 23, the Luverne Rotary Club brought neighbors together by providing a free community meal to approximately 70 people. Held as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to service, this event offered more than just food — it created an opportunity for fellowship, connection, and support within the community.
Custer County equalization director Scott Storms was the guest speaker at the May 12 meeting of the Custer Rotary Club. Storms told the club about the process of valuing property in the county and the success and tribulations that come along with being in the office. In a heartfelt initiative to ensure the safety of young cyclists, the Rotary Club of Luverne recently distributed 89 bicycle helmets to third-grade students across five local elementary schools. The participating schools included Adrian, Luverne, Hills-Beaver Creek, Edgerton Public, and Edgerton Christian.

The speaker at the seminar was discussing the Global Peace Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), and he made an analogy that caught my attention.
