DG Bruce Nearhood invited Moh Eid, a Rotary Fellowship Graduate and member of the Rotary Peace Centers Program, to speak to the District Leadership Team on Sept.10th. Review Moh's presentation here.
Moh extended an invitation for Rotarians to join him at the East Center opening in Turkey. He shared his experiences as a Rotary Peace Fellow and discussed the significant growth in applications for the Master's and Certificate programs. He clearly articulated the importance of Rotary members promoting the program and contributing to peace building.

Also, once your event is planned, don’t forget to register it to help us show the world Rotary’s commitment to ending polio.
We are at the brink of eradicating Polio virus from the world. This is an initiative started by Rotarians in 1979, and we are committed to continue our support until the goal is reached. Wild Polio is currently reported just in Afghanistan and Pakistan. About 15 cases /yr of wild polio in the past few years. We are vaccinating children throughout the world spending close to a billion dollars each year.

The Sioux Falls South Rotary Club recently demonstrated its commitment to community service by delivering hygiene bags to five local elementary schools in collaboration with Journey of Hope.

On September 10, Sioux Falls West Rotary members dedicated their morning to engaging with adults with disabilities at DakotAbilities. They toured the Longfellow Center, where Meaningful Day services are offered, supporting 135 individuals with accessible housing and round-the-clock nursing care. Most participants enjoy a variety of activities like art, music, nutrition, gardening, life skills, and fitness.
The Madison community in South Dakota hosts a six week every Tuesday night festival to recognize fellowship and community. Live bands, multiple food venues, events for young and old, raffles, as well as learning about local service and community organizations, are made available to create excitement for all attendees .
A big round of applause goes to the Northern Black Hills Rotary for their incredible dedication to keeping our community beautiful! Recently, they joined forces with other local volunteers at the Canyon Clean-up and Chamber Ribbon Cutting, rolling up their sleeves to make a real impact. Over the course of about a mile, these hard-working volunteers collected 3.5 large 42-gallon bags of trash and even removed a tire and wheel combo from the area.
Rapid City Rotary Club sent Rotarian Dr. Ashok Kumar to Uganda this month to provide education to improve health care in remote villages in Uganda. Text Books for the health care workers, medical equipment and supplies were also sent to clinics in five villages
Rotary is committing US$500,000 to bolster the initiative, channeling these funds through a dedicated Polio Outbreak Response Fund. This contribution represents Rotary's sustained support to the World Health Organization in combating polio globally.
