Rushmore Rotary joined community volunteers for the United Way of the Black Hills Day of Caring on September 4, lending their time and energy to support the Arise Youth Center, a program of Lutheran Social Services.
The “Multi-District Water Project Initiative” for our district is being called “Unite for Water” as a tribute to the 3-year Rotary International message “Unite for Good.” DGE Mike Gibson and DGN Jennifer Rollins are co-managing this project and will provide guidance and assistance. District Area Assistant Governors are being asked to take lead roles in helping our district meet with club leaders on the project.
Several District 5610 Leaders attended Zone 25B & 29 Institute a week ago. In addition to building a stronger working relationship between members of our district, the attendees heard from key RI leaders. A strong commitment to chartering new clubs, embracing diverse club formats, and expanding Rotary's reach to new communities are vital to building a stronger and more impactful community. "The Zone Institute was an incredible experience: Energizing, insightful, and full of meaningful moments. One of the most special highlights for me was being selected as a flag bearer during the Flag Ceremony. I had the honor of carrying the Italian flag in tribute to RI President Francesco Arezzo, and it was both joyful and humbling."

The first harvest of the Black Hills Works/Rotary Community Gardens in Rapid City provided a reason to celebrate. The Rushmore Rotary IMPACT Club made a huge impact at Raider Park with a hands-on beautification project! Members spent the day weed-whacking, trimming around the apple orchard, and lifting the fences around each tree to protect the sweet apples from hungry deer. Their hard work keeps the park looking great and helps ensure the apple orchard continues to thrive for everyone to enjoy.
