Dr. Gonda is a Professor in the Department of Animal Science at South Dakota State University and recently accepted the role of Interim Department Head beginning in June. Since joining the SDSU faculty in 2008, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to education, leadership, and collaboration.
A Rotarian for more than a decade with the Brookings Rotary Club, Dr. Gonda has faithfully served his club in numerous leadership roles, including Club President and Board member. His passion for leadership development and long-term organizational success was evident during his engaging PELS presentation, where he shared valuable strategies and tools to help clubs create meaningful, actionable strategic plans.
Strategic planning plays a vital role in helping Rotary clubs grow membership, strengthen engagement, enhance public image, and create sustainable impact in their communities. Dr. Gonda has graciously offered his time and expertise to assist clubs throughout the District that are interested in developing or refining their strategic plans.

Originally from Florida, Dr. Gonda earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his B.S. degree from North Carolina State University. He and his wife, Tiffany, reside in Brookings.
