Sioux Falls Rotary South members came together with the community of Harrisburg at Lake Ole Park to build awareness of polio as this week features World Polio Day. Tuesday, the group held its second annual “A Short Walk to End Polio Now” event to raise funds for the cause to support a polio-free future for everyone in the world.

“We don’t think about Polio every day, but it is so important because as long as there are any cases on the planet, it can resurge and affect anybody in any country,” said Sioux Falls Rotary South member Sarah Sinnott.

Rotary International has provided over three billion vaccines worldwide and contributed over $2.7 billion to the effort.
