The Rotary Club of Rapid City is making a lasting impact in the community by supporting the Literacy Council of the Black Hills, a local organization dedicated to helping adults learn English and build brighter futures.

Club members serve as tutors and volunteer in weekly English conversation classes, working with students from more than 30 different countries. These learners are not only improving their English skills but also using them to take significant steps forward—securing employment, starting small businesses, pursuing higher education, and becoming U.S. citizens.

The ripple effect of this work is profound. Students give back by paying taxes, supporting local businesses, and contributing to community life. Through their involvement with the Literacy Council, Rapid City Rotarians are putting “Service Above Self” into action, opening doors of opportunity, and changing lives right here in their community.
