In a heartfelt initiative to ensure the safety of young cyclists, the Rotary Club of Luverne recently distributed 89 bicycle helmets to third-grade students across five local elementary schools. The participating schools included Adrian, Luverne, Hills-Beaver Creek, Edgerton Public, and Edgerton Christian.

The effort was a collaborative one, with adults from Rock County Opportunities meticulously sorting the helmets by color and affixing Rotary Logo stickers to each one. This thoughtful gesture not only provided essential safety gear to children but also highlighted the community spirit and commitment to promoting safe recreational activities among young learners.

"We believe in safeguarding our children's well-being, and promoting bicycle safety is an integral part of our community outreach," remarked Karen Willers, Club President, underscoring the club's dedication to nurturing a safe and supportive environment for local youth.

The initiative not only aimed to enhance safety awareness but also fostered a sense of partnership and goodwill among various community stakeholders. By working together, the Rotary Club of Luverne and Rock County Opportunities exemplified the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self," leaving a lasting impact on the young recipients and their families.
