The Rotary Club of Rapid City has embraced Rotary International’s commitment to literacy by actively supporting the Literacy Council of the Black Hills. Rapid City Rotary Club members serve as tutors to adult students from over 30 countries wishing to learn English.
Rotarians also volunteer in weekly English conversation classes, helping the students practice their English skills. The students use their English to obtain employment, start small businesses, study for their college degrees, and become U.S. citizens. They pay taxes, support local businesses, and participate in community activities. Rotary Club of Rapid City members are putting service above self and helping to change lives in our community by their support of the Literacy Council of the Black Hills.
