District Governor Mike Gibson continues his travels throughout District 5610, visiting Rotary clubs, connecting with dedicated members, and discovering the many ways Rotarians are making a difference in their communities. From large clubs to small clubs, every visit offers an opportunity to hear inspiring stories, learn about meaningful service projects, and experience the fellowship that brings Rotarians together. While every club has its own personality and traditions, the Rotary spirit remains the same: people coming together to make a difference.

Club visits have also brought plenty of memorable moments, great conversations, good meals, and a few surprises along the way!

This month, we’re sharing a lighter side of Mike’s travels through a few questions about his experiences on the road, the people he’s met, and the moments that make serving as District Governor so rewarding.

Let’s find out what happens when the District Governor hits the road!

Q3. When you think about the Rotarians you’ve met this year, what stands out to you the most about our district’s spirit and fellowship? A: (DG Mike’s response) The Rotarians willingness to live up to our motto of “Service above Self!” Really inspiring and noteworthy.

Q4. Which club tradition, activity, or fun moment has made you smile the most during your visits? A: (DG Mike’s response) Some of our clubs do a “Trivia Test” or “Trivia Round Table” often really hard or specific questions about their Club or Community and how many really know the answers to the trivia. Or are at least willing to try and answer and often get very close to the right answer.

Q5. If you could describe our district’s Rotarians in three words, what would they be — and why? A: (DG Mike’s response) Inspiring, Creative, and Self-sacrificing!
