The Art of Hitting the Winning Run - It’s Spring, baseball, and our District Raffle is in full swing! Batting in the top spot with two grand prize offerings is Karl’s Appliance and their Raffle donations of two GE Profile 2-n-1 Washer Dryer systems. We owe a huge “THANK YOU to Karl’s Appliance and their continued support and generous contributions to our annual raffle event. In all, 30 Clubs have donated prizes. Be sure to look over the complete list of raffle prize donations while visiting the District website. Including the two grand prizes from Karl’s Appliance, anyone who steps into the “Batter’s box” and purchases a raffle ticket, has 32 chances of winning something spectacular! We are currently in a slump when it comes to donating to the Annual Fund. Our total donation level has been steadily dropping over the last couple of years.
Our contributions to the Annual Fund for this Rotary year are approximately $20,000 further behind last year’s level. Therefore, we need to look into increasing our average so we can end the Rotary year at a “World Series” batting level.
Our raffle ticket sales goal this year is to raise over $75,000. On average, a third of the District’s Annual Fund contribution to Rotary International comes from the raffle. It’s through this event both Rotarians and smaller clubs get an opportunity to make significant contributions towards achieving their Paul Harris Fellow donations. By giving to Rotary’s Annual Fund, our District is able to offer clubs District Grants to better support the programs and projects clubs would like to do for their communities.
No matter how you look at it, supporting the District Raffle is like hitting the winning home run! Whether winning one of the donated prizes or not, you’re still going to get something from your support. Through your generosity, you will not only be helping our local communities in the many ways you already do, you will also be “Creating Hope in the World”. Thanks to everyone for your help and support with furthering our Rotary programs and commitments through the District Raffle.
