Clark 2nd and 3rd graders were studying peace, acts of kindness, peace symbols and what peace means to them in preparation for World Day of Peace. Teachers and students joined the Rotary on Sept 19 to dedicate the recently acquired Peace Pole.
The event was hosted by Clark Rotary President, Dala Albright and Clark Mayor, Keri Kline. The Peace Pole is both English and Spanish as there are many Spanish speaking students/parents in Clark. After a short explanation from both hosts, the children were presented with sidewalk chalk and tasked to draw on the concrete what "Peace" meant to them. Working peacefully together, they did this with enjoyment and great enthusiasm.
