The Brookings Rotary Club is making learning even more engaging for the youngest students in the Brookings School District. Thanks to the creativity and hands-on efforts of club members, three new early childhood education classrooms are now equipped with custom-built activity boards designed to support both fun and learning.
These interactive boards, funded and assembled by Brookings Rotarians, are tailored for children ages three to five. Each board features a variety of everyday items—such as light switches, locks, rulers, faucets, and padlocks—that allow children to safely explore and play. Whether they’re standing in line or playing together in a collaborative space, the children can stay active and stimulated while developing fine motor skills and curiosity.
The project is a wonderful example of how Rotary brings practical support to local schools and creates opportunities for young learners to thrive. It's “fidgety fun” with a purpose—thanks to the People of Action at Brookings Rotary!
