Rapid City Rushmore lit up the evening on June 30, 2026, as they hosted a vibrant Leadership Transition Dinner for their own club leadership changeover as well as the District Governor transition. The celebration honored their outgoing president and cheered in their new one—setting the tone for a powerful year ahead.
During the DG Transition, District Governor Bruce Nearhood recognized the past District Governors in attendance, each sharing the theme from their year of service. Hearing five years of vision, passion, and purpose in one room made the night feel truly historic.

The room was colorful and electric with energy from the members and guests!
Then came the big moment: our 2026–27 District Governor Mike Gibson—joined by his wife, major supporter, and vice chair Vasthi Gibson—officially took the reins for the district from Bruce Nearhood. Their enthusiasm and commitment promise an exciting year of momentum and connection across District 5610.

PDG Bruce and Kim Nearhood enjoyed the evening with the red, white, and blue theme displayed clearly!
